3 Things They Don't Tell You - About Becoming a Parent.

1. Parenting style is different for everyone, and that’s ok. Every child’s needs are different and every living arrangement varies. Everyone ,parent or not, will have an opinion but ultimately you know what’s best for your circumstances. Do not let anyone make you feel guilty for having a different perspective about what’s right for you and your child.
2. Shame and guilt is part of the parenting process. You will make mistakes from allergic reactions to accidentally dropping your baby. Even the dark moments when your child is crying or very needy and you will feel overwhelmed and start questioning your position as a parent. It happens more often than many of us would like to admit, but you are human. That feeling of being overwhelmed is normal and mistakes and error will take place. What makes a good parent is pushing through those hard times and learning from your mistakes.
3. You will have to demand “YOU” time. Your kids, your partner, your friends, your family, your job will always need you. Taking care of a dependent takes a great deal of self-sacrifice and is a rewarding role. However, no one and nothing gets done if you are out of commission. Take care of yourself so you can take care of others.
